Paul McCartney, David Grohl, Krist Novoselic, Pat Smear – Cut Me Some Slack

David Grohl (former drummer in Nirvana and the lead vocalist, guitarist, and founder of the Foo Fighters has completed a documentary about a legendary studio in Los Angeles called Sound City.  Many major record albums we recorded in this studio.  The studio like record stores, no longer exisst.  David takes us back to the time when the studio was the place where some of the worlds best albums were created.  Back to the days of tape, to the days before digital.  The documentary will premier at the Sundance Film festival.  There is new music being created as the soundtrack to the documentary has a star studded cast.  The documentary spurred the creation of a new back Sound City and the album is called Real to Reel.  The first cut off the album is called Cut Me Some Slack and it is the song of the week. This song was played at the Sandy Hurricane relief concert and has the members of Nirvana playing with Paul McCartney.

Watch for the rest of the album to be released March 12, 2013 on iTunes.

Looking forward to seeing this documentary. I thought the Nirvana/McCartney gig was a strange combo but it turned out alright.
